Elevate Coach is operated by Elevate Sports Labs Inc. ("Elevate Sports Labs," "we," "us," or "our"), a Canadian company incorporated in the Province of Ontario. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal information when you visit the Elevate Coach marketing site at elevatecoach.app (the "Site") or use the Elevate Coach application (the "App"). Together, the Site and the App are referred to as the "Services."
By using our Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Who We Are
Elevate Sports Labs Inc. is the controller of the personal information collected through the Services. Elevate Coach is a product operated under Elevate Sports Labs Inc.
- Company: Elevate Sports Labs Inc.
- Jurisdiction: Ontario, Canada
- Privacy contact: privacy@elevatesportslabs.com
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your personal information, please email the address above.
2. What This Policy Covers
This policy applies to two separate experiences within Elevate Coach:
- The Site: our marketing website at elevatecoach.app, including the early-access request form and any contact or signup forms.
- The App: the Elevate Coach web application that coaches and team staff use to evaluate players, plan practices and seasons, and review games.
Elevate Coach and Elevate Stats are two products on one platform. You use the same account and the same teams in both, and games tracked in Elevate Stats appear in Elevate Coach. The Elevate Stats Privacy Policy at elevatestats.app/privacy covers what Elevate Stats collects.
Some sections below apply only to the Site or only to the App. We've noted when that's the case.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information You Give Us
When you request early access on the Site:
- Your name and email address.
- Your team name, its level (for example, AA), and its age group (for example, U13).
- Whether you already use Elevate Stats.
- A record of the notice shown when you submitted the form, and the time you submitted it.
When you use the App:
- Account details: email address, password (stored encrypted by our authentication provider), and display name.
- If you sign in with Google: your email address and name as provided by Google.
- Team and roster information you enter or import: team name, level, age group, season, player first and last names, jersey numbers, and positions.
- Game data: schedules, lineups, scores, and player statistics, whether tracked in Elevate Stats or uploaded as a CSV file.
- Player evaluations: the ratings and skill scores you give players, your Top 2 / Bottom 2 picks after each game, watch-list entries, player notes, tryout scores, and development focus areas.
- Coaching content: practice plans, drills, systems, season plans, and whiteboard drawings.
- Billing details (once paid plans launch): handled directly by our payment processor (see section 7). We do not see or store your credit card number.
When you use other forms on the Site:
- Any information you submit through contact forms or newsletter signups (typically name and email).
3.2 Information Collected Automatically
On the Site:
- Standard web analytics data (pages visited, referring source, approximate location, device and browser type), collected through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics. We use this to understand how the Site is performing and improve it. When you request early access, Google Analytics records that a request was made, without your name or email address.
- When you request early access, we keep a note of the campaign link you arrived from, if any (the standard "utm" tags in the web address, such as the campaign name). We use it only to judge which of our marketing works.
- A security check (Cloudflare Turnstile) that runs in the background when you submit a form, to tell people from automated bots. See section 5.
- Cookies and similar technologies. See section 8.
In the App:
- The App does not load advertising or analytics tags.
- Our hosting and backend providers (listed in section 5) automatically log technical request data such as IP addresses and timestamps for security and reliability purposes.
3.3 Information About Minors (Youth Hockey Players)
Elevate Coach is used by coaches and team staff to manage amateur hockey teams. When you use the App, you may enter personal information about minors (youth players), such as first and last names, jersey numbers, game statistics, and your evaluations of their play, such as ratings, notes, and Top 2 / Bottom 2 picks.
We do not collect this information directly from minors. It is entered by adult account holders (coaches or team staff) on behalf of the players.
By entering information about a minor, you confirm that you have the authority to do so: for example, because you are the player's coach or team manager, or because you have obtained consent from the player's parent or legal guardian.
Player evaluations are a coach's tool for player development. Write ratings and notes as you would for the player's development, and do not record health, family, or other sensitive personal details in notes.
If you are a parent or guardian and you believe information about your child has been entered into the App without appropriate authority, please contact us at privacy@elevatesportslabs.com and we will work with you to review or remove that information.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Manage early-access requests: confirm your request, send invitations in small groups, and apply the founding-coach offer.
- Create and manage your account.
- Provide the core functionality of the App (player evaluation, lineups, practice and season planning, game review, team statistics, and ElevateIQ insights).
- Process subscription payments and manage your billing, once paid plans launch.
- Communicate with you about your account, your early-access request, service updates, and support requests.
- Send you marketing emails about Elevate Coach and other Elevate Sports Labs products, if you have consented to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email, or by contacting us directly.
- Improve the Services, diagnose problems, and protect against fraud and abuse.
- Comply with our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We rely on trusted third-party providers to run the Services. These providers process personal information on our behalf under contractual obligations to keep it secure and use it only for the purposes we authorize.
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, authentication, and backend functions for the App, and storage of early-access requests | United States |
| Vercel | Hosting for the App and Site | United States / global |
| Stripe | Payment processing for paid subscriptions, once they launch | United States |
| Optional Google Sign-In for account authentication | United States | |
| Third-party AI service providers | Generating ElevateIQ insights (see section 6) | United States |
| Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager | Measuring Site activity and the results of our marketing | United States |
| Cloudflare (Turnstile) | Checking that forms are submitted by people, not bots | United States / global |
| Email service providers | Sending transactional emails (such as your early-access confirmation) and, where consented, marketing emails, and keeping our email contact list | Varies |
Cloudflare Turnstile collects information about your browser and device to tell people from bots. Its use is subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy and its Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
If the team owner invites assistant coaches, managers, or other team staff, those invited people can see the team's information in the App, including player evaluations and notes. Team owners decide who they invite.
Because these providers are based outside Canada, your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other countries. When your information is in another country, it is subject to the laws of that country, which may allow government authorities to access it under applicable legal processes.
6. ElevateIQ (AI Insights)
The App includes ElevateIQ, which writes pre-game focus notes, game recaps, player development notes, and roster trends from your team's data. To create these, we send a portion of your game and team data to a third-party AI service provider located in the United States.
The data we send includes team and opponent names, game results and statistics, lineups, and player identifiers in an abbreviated form (first name plus last-name initial and jersey number, for example "#9 Alex S."). For player development and roster notes, it also includes your ratings of players, your Top 2 / Bottom 2 picks, and the text of your recent watch-list entries and player notes. We do not send full last names, dates of birth, or contact information. Because notes are written by you, they are sent as you wrote them, so do not put sensitive personal details in them.
Our AI provider is contractually prohibited from using this data to train their own models or for any purpose other than returning the insight to you.
If you do not want your team's data processed by our AI provider, do not use ElevateIQ. We may add a dedicated opt-out control in a future update.
7. Payments
Elevate Coach is free for invited early-access coaches until paid plans launch. Once they launch, paid subscriptions to Elevate Coach will be processed by Stripe. When you enter payment details, you are interacting directly with Stripe's secure checkout. We never see or store your full card number, CVV, or expiry date.
Stripe sends us limited information needed to manage your subscription, including your email address, a Stripe customer ID, and your current subscription status. Stripe's own privacy practices are described at stripe.com/privacy.
Refunds: Subscriptions are non-refundable. You may cancel your subscription at any time to avoid future charges, and you will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period.
8. Cookies and Local Storage
8.1 On the Site (elevatecoach.app)
We use cookies and similar technologies on the Site to make it work properly and to measure how visitors use it. Some of these cookies are set by Google Analytics. Cloudflare Turnstile may also use browser storage to run its security check.
The Site does not currently show a cookie banner. You can block or clear these cookies at any time through your browser settings, and most ad blockers stop the analytics tags from loading altogether.
8.2 In the App
The App uses your browser's local storage to keep you signed in between visits. It does not use advertising or analytics cookies.
You can clear this data at any time by signing out or clearing your browser's site data.
9. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep early-access requests until you are invited and join, you decline, or you ask us to remove your request. Once you join, your request stays linked to your account so we can honour the founding-coach offer.
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your personal information from our live systems within a reasonable period.
Some information may persist in encrypted backups for a limited time after deletion (typically up to 30 days), after which it is permanently removed according to our backup provider's retention cycle. Information we are legally required to retain (for example, tax and billing records) will be kept for the period required by law.
10. Your Rights
Under Canadian privacy law (including PIPEDA) and, where applicable, the privacy laws of your province or country, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete your account, or your early-access request, and associated personal information.
- Withdraw consent to any processing that is based on your consent (such as marketing emails).
- Complain to a privacy regulator. In Canada, that is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@elevatesportslabs.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 30 days.
Currently, account deletion and full data export requests are handled manually by our team.
11. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
- Encryption of data at rest on our backend provider's infrastructure.
- Row-level security policies in our database, so users can only access their own team's data.
- A bot check and rate limits on our public forms, and early-access requests that can be written but not read through the public Site.
- Password hashing handled by our authentication provider.
No system is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at privacy@elevatesportslabs.com.
12. Children Using the Services
The Services are intended for users 16 years of age or older. We do not knowingly allow children under 16 to create accounts or request early access. If you believe a child under 16 has done so, please contact us and we will remove it.
This is separate from the information about minors entered by coaches and team staff, which is addressed in section 3.3.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our Services, legal requirements, or business practices. The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy will always show when it was most recently revised.
If we make material changes, we will notify users through the App, by email, or through a notice on the Site. Continuing to use the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
